Asset Development

Re-entry & Completion Technology
  • Re-entry technology is an ideal consideration for assets that do not justify drilling a new well

  • Intermediate radius horizontal re-entry technology is a proven alternative to hydraulic fracturing

  • Non-damaging water-based fluids used to protect the reservoir

  • Flexible completion options available to suit the formation requirements and development strategies

  • Comparatively high IPs observed from using our innovative drilling and completion techniques

Shale Techniques
  • Horizontal/highly deviated wellbores for the Monterey are perhaps even more successful than fracking without having to deal with the regulatory hurdles of SB4 now in place.

  • Monterey shale frac results have been unpredictable and mostly uneconomical to-date: Rock is found to be much more ductile than the brittle shales found in the mid-continent.

  • Orient horizontal or highly-deviated well trajectories to intersect more of the native fracture network - We understand the typical azimuthal trend of the native fractures based on extensive 3D seismic surveys and borehole imaging.

  • We use completion techniques that provide the highest IP and the lowest skin factor without the need for stimulation.

  • Petrojen emphasizes low cost well designs due to unpredictable production performance.
